Sleigh Ride

Binky, a three year-old Chihuahua mix who was born without his two front legs, walks down the Third Street Promenade with the help of his Santa sleigh on Wednesday, December 10, 2008. Binky was rescued from a shelter after spending his first year as an orphan.

Howl-O-Ween Parade

(1) Contestants walk along the Third Street Promenade dressed in their costumes during Three Dog Bakery's Howl-O-Ween Parade on Sunday, October 26, 2008. (2) Sparky, a three-year old Chihuahua mix dressed as a tiger, gets judged during the costume contest. (3) Binky La Rue, a three year-old Chihuahua mix who was born without his two front legs, walks down the Third Street Promenade dressed as the Headless Horseman. Binky La Rue, won the costume contest and received a gift basket from Three Dog Bakery. Proceeds from the costume contest was to donated to Much Love Animal Rescue.

Blessing of the Animals

Sacred Cat of Burma



Lorna Malinen judges Russpurrz Elmo, a one year-four month old Birman (Sacred Cat of Burma) during the 42nd Annual CFA All Breed Cat Show at the Santa Monica Civic on Sunday, August 24, 2008. Elmo won a 10th Best Allbreed, another 10th Best Allbreed, a 5th Best Allbreed, a 7th Best Allbreed, and a 6th Best Longhair. There were 53 cats entered in Premiership (spays and neuters) and he was 8th highest scoring cat out of those 53 cats! There were 8 judges, and 5 of the 8 gave him awards. Elmo is presently ranked #1 for his breed in premiership in USA. Elmo lives in Seattle, Washington with his owner J. Kathleen Huge.

Beautiful Bijoux

She was adopted from Much Love  Animal rescue. Much Love Animal Rescue is a 100% nonprofit, no-kill organization dedicated to reducing overpopulation, abuse and neglect of domestic animals. Much Love is run entirely by like-minded professionals who volunteer their time and resources to help save the lives of these animals. Since 2000, they have successfully placed over 2,000 animals in loving homes.  Much Love Animal Rescue was named “Best L.A. Animal Shelter” in 2003 by Animal Fair magazine.
