This year’s Kids With Cameras summer photo workshop will feature the photographs and cuisine of 20 youth from PAL and the Boys and Girls Club. Youth between the ages of 11-14 years old will focus on visually chronicling how food is planted, harvested, produced, and consumed as part of the farmers’ market movement. The dialogue event brings together different communities from Santa Monica to share in each other’s stories of diversity across neighborhood boundaries, class, race, generation and social differences to gain cultural awareness and acceptance. The workshop meets every Wednesday for 8 weeks and will feature their work in a show on Saturday, October 2, 2010. The time and location of the event will be determined at a later date.
