Ike and Syndi
PSYCLOPS characters Ike and Syndi, otherwise known as hip-hop dancers Peipei "B-Girl Peppa" Yuan, 18, and Giovanni "BBoy Bailafuco" Avelar, 18, teach kids dance moves at the Third Street Promenade on Saturday, October 25, 2008. The event was presented by PuzzleZoo and was promoting the quirky, colorful PSYCLOPS iPod protective cases, each in the likeness of unique characters, unlock a kid-friendly online world where visitors can create the best beats, killer dance moves and have a good time with their friends. At PSYCLOPS Headquarters users can make their own customized PSYCLOPS avatars, music beats and dance moves -- and, for the first time with an iPod-centric product, users can also share their latest music and dance moves by uploading their unique 32 second music video to their iPods and take their creation with them, email the groovy movie to their family and friends or even upload the QuickTime video to their social networking page.

Opa Opa
Concertgoers dance to the Salsa music of Opa Opa during City of Santa Monica's 3rd Annual Jazz on the Lawn in front of City Hall on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008. OPA OPA is made up of a diverse group of musicians. They come from all around the world and each adds their own special flare and flavor to the band’s sound. They performed Latin Salsa, Cumbia, Bolero, Cha-Cha and Merengue The concert was the final installment in the summer jazz series.

SHINE, an all-female drumming and dance group, start the Glow all night art festival with a performance on Palisades Park and down the Santa Monica Pier on Saturday, July 19, 2008. GLOW is presented by the City of Santa Monica in partnership with Bayside District Corporation, Pier Restoration Corporation and the Santa Monica Convention and Visitors Bureau. Inspired by the wildly successful Nuit Blanche in Paris, Glow is made possible through the support of generous sponsorship from organizations like the Norton Family Foundation. The event takes its spirit from the fabled grunions that live in local waters and come ashore several times a year to spawn in the sand creating a momentary sensation of iridescence.




Viver Brasil
Viver Brasil processes to the ocean with live drumming, lively movement and song during the closing event to GLOW Art Festival at on Sunday, July 20, 2008. The ceremony celebrated life and power of the ocean and honored the beauty of the Afro-Brazilian salty and sweet water spirits, bearing gifts of white and yellow flowers presented to the goddesses, Yemanja and Oxum.
