Former Media Arts and Animation student from the California Art Institute California -  Los Angeles, Kristi Klein, 29, a professional Model Builder and judge from Legoland California ,  puts some final touches on a model during the Legoland National Search for Model Builders that was held  at the Art Institute of California- Los Angeles.  Klein one this competition two years ago and won a full time job at Legoland. Students from the art institute from right to left:Yale Winter, 19, (video game design student) Mike Abasaba, 19, (graphic  design student) and Mateo Contreras, 20 (graphic design student) practice on the legos before the competition.

The Beacon

On Monday, a man takes cover under his umbrella while standing on the public art work titled, "The Beacon"  Designed by public artist Jody Pinto. The Beacon, a wood-plank platform and tall tubular sculpture is located at the California Incline and was dedicated on Veterans’ Day 1999.

Wave and Shell Obelisks

On Sunday, a cyclists ride his bike  by the public art sculptures titled, 'Wave and Shell Obelisks' 1990 by artist Michele Oka Doner on Ocean Park Boulevard at Barnard Way in Santa Monica Beach. Accreted minerals from seawater over copper mesh sculptures.

Ocean Park Segue

A women takes a brake from her bike ride atop of the public art sculpture titled "Ocean Park Segue" by artist Joyce Kohl on Ocean Park Beach and Barnard Way in Santa Monica. Fabricated on the site, Ocean Park Segue consists of two raised concrete performance platforms, each made of six horizontally stacked concrete slabs, pivoted to create stairs and overhangs. The surface of the slabs is imprinted with cast beach artifacts both human-made and natural. The platforms are used for sponsored and spontaneous performances, picnicking and playing. The installation measures forty inches in height with a total area of fifteen feet by fifteen feet for each slab.

Commissioned by the City of Santa Monica Percent for Art program as part of the Natural Elements Sculpture (NES) Park with funds from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Santa Monica Arts Foundation. Santa Monica beach, just north of the pier.
