1) Lily Sellers gives a group hug to her  mother April Sellers (left) and her English Auntie Jaimee Alexsandre (right) at Mikey's Hug Deli at Santa Monica Beach on Saturday, November 24, 2007.  The price of a group hug was two compliments. 2) Mara Luthane chooses her order from the menu at Mikey's Hug Deli. Mikey, owner and creator of Hug Deli, puts the finishing touches on his interactive public art display at Santa Monica Beach. 3) Mara Luthane serves up a hug for her boyfriend Howard Himelstein at the deli on Saturday. Mikey's Hug Deli has participated in Burning Man Festival for the past three years.

Guests admire the  topsy-turvy poppy field  art  installation, "Plays Well With Others" during the  opening reception  at Santa Monica College's Pete & Susan Barrett Art Gallery on Friday, November 16, 2007. The art installation is constructed of thousands of yards of natural and synthetic fibers, and more than 10,000 coffee filters. The art installation is a collaboration of artists Sharon Kagan, Leslie Yagar, and Lana Shuttleworth.

1,2) Visitors look at Ke-Sook Lee's art installation, "Seed Pods" (Apron) made of thread, tarlatan, and earth pigment in the George Billis Gallery during the 17th Annual Los Angeles Asian and Tribal Art Show at the Santa Monica Civic Center on Sunday, November  11, 2007.  The show featured a wide selection of internationally renowned art dealers/galleries specializing in antique and contemporary Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Central South Asian) and Tribal (African, New Guinea and The Americas) art. 3) Oumar Keinde show off his African Art during the show. 4) Karen Burns and her grandmother Marie Burns  arrive at the art  show in their Bedouin dresses.

TOP (Right to Left) Artist Sharon Kagan, Artist Leslie Yagar, Volunteer Nat George, Volunteer Kathleen Zadikian and Artist Lana Shuttleworth from the group PiNK (an acronym for the artists' tools: Pins, Needles and Knives) assemble the topsy-turvy poppy field  art  installation, "Plays Well With Others" at Santa Monica College's Pete & Susan Barrett Art Gallery on Tuesday, November 06, 2007. "The orange blossoms will dangle and sway overhead, enveloping the viewer into a new spatial experience," Kagan says. "Created from more than 100 polyvinyl street cones, thousands of yards of natural and synthetic fibers, and more than 10,000 coffee filters, the garden will be as amazing and beautiful as it is unique."  The opening reception will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16.
