(1) New Roads School Sophomores Danee Schiffer, 16 (left) and Zoe Dion, 16 sing peace songs during the student Walk Out for Peace March on Friday, Jan. 26, 2007. The students marched from campus down Colorado Ave. to the front of City Hall. They sang peace songs and made cell  calls to their political representatives. They  texted and called Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Senator Dianne Feinstein and President Bush to let them know why they walked out of school on Friday. (2) New Roads School Freshman's Nicole Popp, 14, draws peace marks onto the arm of Jay Feder, 14 while Amanda Fleg, 14 lends her support (3) New Roads School Junior Austin Draper, 16, sings his original song "Live" during the students protest on Friday.

The Ozone

Gary Fouts, a Santa Monica College Astronomy professor, takes a reading on his five channel 'Sunphotometer' in front of Drescher Hall On Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007. A sunphotometer measures the ozone and water vapor. Fouts has been tracking the ozone for the past one-in-a-half years. His results agrees with  NASA's Satellites data and  the weather channels.

Horntense Goldberg, a Los Angles native, blows out a candle on her birthday cake while  surrounded with family and friends during her 100th Birthday celebration on Tuesday Jan. 23, 2007 at the Gardens of Santa Monica (where she has been living for the past 10 years). Goldberg attribute exercise to her longevity and up until last year exercised daily. During the 'Big Birthday Bash' the Bob Danis Band performed while guests danced to oldies. They celebrated by drinking red punch and eating chocolate cake. They all sang 'Happy Birthday to Horntense.'
