Aerospace Engineer, Wayne Brooks, 50, flies his giant kites at Santa Monica Beach on Sunday, June 1, 2008. Brooks has been flying kites for the past five years. He has a collection of over 400 kite, many of which he built himself. Brooks can be seen flying his kite on most Sundays at Santa Monica Beach.

Downbeat 720 is a positive performance lab for High School Performing Artists. Whether you're a singer, poet, mc, dancer, actor or musician, Downbeat 720 provides a safe, structured environment to try out new material, gain confidence and develop their skills as artists by performing in front of an audience of their peers. Downbeat 720 is staged at Miles Play house and is sponsored by the City of Santa Monica.

Walk on L.A.

A group of teenagers jump from of the public art sculpture "Walk on L.A." (by artist Carl Cheng) at Santa Monica Beach on Tuesday April 8, 2008. The sculpture was constructed by John Doe Co. from cast concrete and steel and was commissioned by the City of Santa Monica.
