Thai Green Curry

1) Culinary students Jonathan Mandujano, 20, and Eddie Alvarez, 20, give their dishes for judging to Chritophe Bernard (Academic Chair of the Art Institute of California-Los Angeles) and Chef M.L. Sirichalerm Svasti, aka Chef McDang,  famous master chef of Thailand, during the Thai Green Curry competition at the Art Institute of California-Los Angeles on Saturday, July 28, 2007. The competitors teamed up  two students who prepared, cooked and served Thai Chicken Green Curry within 90 minutes time limit. The winners who cooked and serve best Thai Chicken Green Curry won a  round trip ticket,  one week accommodations with a week-long Thai Culinary course in Bangkok Thailand. 2) Jonathan Mandujano, 20, and Eddie Alvarez, 20, prepare their dish.

Thai-Master Chef, TV personality and  author  M.L. Sirchalerm Svasti, aka McDang, brings out a dish of 'Sunkist Orange Salad with Smoked Salmon' during the “Taste of Thailand” culinary event at The Art Institute of California – Los Angeles on Friday. McDang taught a two week class on traditional Thai cuisine to the students of  the Art Institute. The master chef and his students presented several dishes for guests at the culinary event. The Taste of Thailand was presented by The Art Institute in conjunction with  Thai Consulate of Los Angeles. The  Thai Consulate of Los Angeles is trying to promote Thai food and culture.

The final touch

Randy Hattaway, 26, and just graduated from the  California Art Institute - Los Angeles, prepares a batch of White Peach and Cherry Crisp at the Third Street Promenade on Wednesday June 21, 2006.  Hattaway graduated with top honors and received the 2006 'Outstanding Achievement Award'. He just got a job at the Tender Greens in Culver City.
